
1. Description
In this example, users can find a structure that can replicate itself in the cellular automata space. In stead of focusing on its physical realization, the study of self-replication tries to capture the principles that are involved in self-replication. Such study allows for building of systems that are more autonomous.
This example contains the template, sample space and rule set files for Chris Langton's self-reproduction loop published in Physica D 10 (1984) 135-144. Note that his rule table has been translated into the Trend language.
