Philip Maher is a Masters Degree student in Computer Science at Iowa State University. Philip grew up in northern Missouri in a small town named King City. He graduated from high school in 1998 and continued his post-secondary education at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. While at NWMSU, Philip was very involved with their ACM Chapter as well as many of the other campus organizations. A lot of Philip's leisure time was spent playing saxophone in the NWMSU bands.
In 2002 Philip earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Northwest Missouri State University and enrolled at ISU that fall to pursue graduate studies in computer science. Philip maintains his participation in the bands at ISU by performing with the ISU Symphonic Bands.
Philip's computer science related interests include Computational Biology/Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, Networking, and Software Engineering. Outside of the classroom, Philip is an avid fan of the Star Wars saga as well as being a huge Kansas City Chiefs enthusiast.
